I may attempt to add the new ships to the tier list after some derusting and playing the new ships however i am currently in college nearing finals and am also invested competitively in other games so no promises. Yes i know im years late but i only really got into ftl a year ago and i finally feel ive played it enough to create my own weapon tiers.

Ftl ships tier list. If this tier list were based on my experiences the zoltan a would be lower than the slug b. Lanius b crystal b zoltan b. Ive divided the 28 ships into five main tiers based around different levels of overall strength. So ftls been out for a while and i figure weve all had enough time to let our opinions of the different ships settle and i thought itd be fun to rank them. I havent sunk my teeth into it but ae discussion starts with captain teddys tier list here. Each player ship can carry a maximum of eight crew members of various races with an initial crew of between one and four members.
The only ship ive piloted which more restarts let alone anywhere near as many is the dreadful engi b. Halberd beam and leto is an awful awful starting arsenal good for sector 1 2 if youre lucky. However all ships were not created equal thus i have created a tier list of them based on their ability to beat the game on hard ranking them 1 28. One of the best parts of ftl is the variety of ships you can play with. B tier good ships once certain equipment and upgrades are acquiredcrystal a kestrel a lanius a. S tier great ships right out of the hangar can get ludicrously op once more equipment and crew is acquired.

The weapons at the top of the list are consistently effective in almost any ship set up.
Everything below is obsolete with ae. Since ftl is a game of rng you want to minimize any variance as much as possible. There is only one ship in this tier as it easily stands above every other ship in the game. Starting weapons can only be found aboard the ship that has them i include crystal weapons because getting to the crystal sector to buy them is an extremely rare and difficult. After seeing so many ftl tier lists floating around on the internet i decided that i might as well put one together myself and post it here on my website.
